Boy’s Spring/Summer Wishlist 2018

With Spring just around the corner, it’s time for a wardrobe update. Just in time too, as Luke is starting to grow out of all the clothes he currently has and we need to start getting organised before we are blessed with our summer Baby Number 2.

Before I go shopping, I always like to have a look online and see what sort of styles are in store and where I can get the best quality for the best price. I’m not a brand loyal shopper, so I love to check the market and see what’s available. If something costs a little bit extra but is made from lovely fabric and will last well, I’ll choose to buy that over something that’s cheaper but likely to fall apart or rip easily. We all know kid’s clothes need to be resilient!

Luke’s just had another growth spurt, so this time I’m looking for a bit of everything. He definitely needs new trainers this spring as his feet never stop growing either. He could also do with a nice jacket, some new trousers and, as always, new t-shirts.

Starting with Zara, they still have a sale going on, so these comfy and non-restrictive trousers are only £7.99. I think that’s a real bargain as they’re half price and you know they’ll be of a great quality. Luke prefers trousers that don’t restrict his movement which means he wears a lot of joggers, but Zara do fabulous kids trousers that are nice and stretchy. This means we can mix and match his clothes with ease and he doesn’t have to wear joggers 24/7.

If you read my Goals For 2018, you will have noticed one of our resolutions is to have lots of family walks this year. With children, that means that wellies are an essential. These Paw Patrol wellies light up and are from F&F at Tesco.

Who doesn’t love a bomber jacket? Once again, we’re not so keen on non-stretchy material, but this jacket from River Island looks perfect for Luke. River Island have a huge choice of boy’s coats and jackets too, from Parkas to leather look jackets – perfect for transitioning from Spring to Summer.

Luke is picky about shorts. He’s not overly keen on the idea of them and on the hottest days in summer it can be a struggle to convince him to wear them. Every year we buy a multi pack from Mothercare and this year will be no different. The shorts are stretchy, soft and go with pretty much everything.

That being said, sometimes the fussy mummy inside of me wants to take control and dress him in something a bit more ‘cool’. I love the look of these shorts with a stretchy waist band from George at ASDA.

Just like the shorts, Luke can sometimes be fussy about t-shirts too. For some reason, he tends to prefer long sleeved tops. I love the look of this multi-pack of long t-shirts from Next; that’ll give him the option to wear them but not all the blooming time (think summer and long days out!).

Before we get to summer, we still have to contend with Spring and there’s definitely going to be a chill in the air for a while yet. Luke loves a good Star Wars jumper or top, so this black and red Star Wars jumper from George at ASDA really stands out. It will match with almost anything he decides to wear too.

Finally, when summer does eventually hit, we’re going to be off on so many adventures and days out that Luke will really need a new pair of trainers. Spiderman is his all time favourite superhero, so he’d definitely love these trainers and there will be no more fighting when it comes to us trying to get him to put his blooming shoes on in the morning!

Oh these are so cute 🙂 I have a younger brother and it’s his birthday soon I think he’d absolutely love the Spider-Man trainers! X

Those trousers look comfy and that’s a great price for them. These days I seem to have a harder time every year buying for my boys because the fashion designers have decided that all kids are super skinny and have to wear skinny jeans. Makes me very frustrated when shopping for them. Great to know they’re are still good clothing companies out there for kids:)

I know exactly what you mean. Luke doesn’t really like jeans, skinny ones are the worst, how are you meant to climb trees and run around when you’re all restricted. 🙁
