Review: Logojoy – Create A Professional Logo In Minutes

One of the first things I thought about when I created Lukeosaurus and Me was the logo. What would my logo be? What would my blog header look like? How long would it take me to create a professional looking graphic and then resize it to fit correctly on all my social media platforms? If you’re a fellow blogger or if you’re creating social media accounts to promote and sell your brand, you’ll know that a lot of effort goes into this one element of your website.

Logojoy is a website that generates unique logos instantly using Artificial Intelligence. It’s a very simple, quick and efficient way of creating something personalised and professional for all your graphic needs. Logojoy offers 3 packages that are reasonably priced and provide you with exactly what you need to get your website up and running.

Creating Your Company Logo Using Logojoy

Creating a logo using Logojoy is very easy. You just pop over to the website and input some basic information about your company. First, you need to enter your company name. In my case I entered my blog name.

Logo Style

Next, a page full of different logo styles pops up. You’re prompted to pick five or more of these logos that you like the look of. The styles are all quite different and it really helps you to get a feel for what your tastes are and what type of graphics would suit your content.

Picking your colour scheme is up next. You’re presented with a page full of colour palettes and asked to pick any you like. If you’ve already selected a colour scheme for you website, or you have an idea of how you’d like it to look, I would pick the colours accordingly. My blog currently has a pinky/red and blue theme which symbolises the mother/son related content. You have the option to skip this step if you’re not interested or haven’t decided quite what you’d like yet.

If your company has a slogan, now is your chance to add it to your design. After that, AI asks you to select up to five symbols; these symbols will serve as the image included in your logo. Think hard about what your website is about and then type a related keyword into the search bar to see what Logojoy has to offer. You are able to edit the symbols or change them/delete them later on.

Your Logo Is Almost Done!

On the next page, you need to make an account in order to see what logos the AI has come up with for you. Don’t worry though, this can be done using the usual short cuts (sign up using Facebook, Twitter etc) as well as an email sign up and no payment is required yet.

Now it’s the fun part! The Logojoy AI have created a huge variety of logos based on all the preferences you’ve inputted so far. It was pretty cool to see my blog title and slogan pop up on such a huge variety of logo styles and it’s quite inspirational. Loads of options come up and once you find one you like, simply click on it to bring up the editing page.

Editing

From here you can edit the colour scheme, fonts, symbols and the layout. You are able to change every aspect of the logo – after all, it is your logo! The choices are vast, from editing the letter spacing, editing symbol sizes, adding a gold foil effect to your font to even adding a monogram. Logojoy really gives you the freedom to edit their logos in any way you see fit to ensure you get exactly what you want from them.

Payment Options

As mentioned earlier, Logojoy offers it’s users 3 payment options. I went for the Premium package which offers a huge variety of features, including the ability to make changes whenever I want to, as well as lots of other great features. I really love that it also comes with Brand Guidelines – a full list of dos and don’ts for anyone wishing to use your logo. This comes with a lovely code you can embed into your About page or your side bar for any potential collaborators to view.

Could I Just Do It Myself?

The short answer to that question is yes. However, I can’t begin to tell you how many hours of my life I have spent designing, creating and resizing blog images! There’s a lot to be said for convenience. All those hours of my life could have been spent being more productive – I could have been promoting, selling and networking. In fact, I learnt a lot of things in my first year of blogging! Not to mention that image editing software isn’t exactly cheap. No one wants to buy a copy of Photoshop just for a logo. Popular image editing browser site, PicMonkey (which I used to use a lot!), has recently become membership only and similar site, Canva, requires you to purchase membership for access to all of their more professional and sleek features.

The Verdict: Is it worth it?

If you’re a start up company, Logojoy is PERFECT for you. If you are looking for something professional, sleek and stylish that you want quickly and effortlessly then this is the one for you. There are packages to suit all of your needs and it leaves you free to concentrate on getting yourself out there and promoting yourself.

If you’re a brand new hobby blogger, I would maybe hold off for a little while until you’ve found your style and voice. When you’re writing as a hobby, you may enjoy using sites like Canva.com and experimenting with the software. For all the time I spent experimenting (and failing), I enjoyed taking my time to learn some new skills.

If you’ve been blogging a while and wish to expand your blog further, or you have managed to monetise your brand and fancy something professional and stylish, Logojoy could be an option for you.

At the time of writing this (Nov ’17), the Premium Package works out at great value – only £49.70. Considering all the freedom, customisation and additional features you get with this package, I would say it was a total bargain.
