Easy Guide To Making Slow Cooker Fudge. Cook time varies between slow cookers, averaging around 90 - 120 minutes.
  • 500g milk chocolate
  • 1 table spoon of butter
  • 1 table spoon of vanilla essence
  • 1 can of condensed milk
  1. Break the chocolate bars up into chunks and put them in the slow cooker first.
  2. Pour the condensed milk over the chocolate - make sure to use a spoon or spatula to get all of it out.
  3. Add the butter and the vanilla essence.
  4. IMPORTANT: Leave the lid OFF , set slow cooker to LOW and using a METAL spoon, stir every 10 - 15 minutes.
  5. Just leave the slow cooker to do it's thing and pop back every 15 minutes to give it a stir. Obviously as time goes by, you will need to put a bit more effort into stirring as the mixture gets quite thick.
  6. You'll know your fudge has had enough time in the slow cooker once a crust like texture has formed on top and the fudge mixture has started to come away from the edges of the slow cooker slightly.
  7. This takes approximately 90 - 120 minutes, depending on the temperature of the "low" setting on your slow cooker.
  8. Once it's done, pour onto a lined baking tray and set in the fridge.
  9. To portion, remove baking paper and cut with a sharp knife, using hot water to help keep the knife clean and create even cuts.
  10. Store in a sealed container in the fridge.
  11. Adding Extras: If you want to add extras to your fudge (try nuts, sprinkles, raisins etc) stir these in with the mixture before you pour it into the baking tray. Alternatively, once you've poured the fudge into the lined baking tray, sprinkle your extras on top then set in the fridge.
