Unwind With These Free Online Games After A Stressful Day

Life is stressful, there are no two ways around it. Things can become particularly overwhelming and stressful if you’re a parent, so it’s important that you look after your mental wellbeing and find a way to relax. If you’ve had a stressful day, there are certainly some things that you can do to help alleviate the stress and cheer yourself up. You could try practising some helpful habits, or try avoiding social media for the evening. Or, you could unwind by playing some free online games.

Playing free online games is a great way to unwind after a stressful day.

When it comes to unwinding after a stressful day, I find playing games extremely helpful. I love playing games that test your brain, such as word and logic games. I’m all about word searches and crosswords, but I also love a good hidden object game too. I find these types of games so soothing and satisfying to play, and I know that not only am I relaxing at the end of the day, but I’m also improving my vocabulary and training my brain at the same time.

You don’t need a fancy console in order to play free online games.

I’m a serial gamer when it comes to playing games on my phone and tablet. I also love playing small, simple games on my laptop to help me unwind after a stressful day. Admittedly, I do tend to get carried away when it comes to downloading apps and games, so I find that it’s pretty hard after a certain amount of time to keep feeding my addiction. I tend to run out of space on my devices and I often can’t bear to delete any of my existing games.

Thankfully, I have discovered that you can play the type of free online games that I love on sites such as Solitaire.org, without having to download anything. Best of all, all the games are completely free and there are no ads!

In a way, I’m pretty sure this makes the free online games on Solitaire.org even better than most games of this genre on the app store as all those games are often riddled with irritating ads.

The best brain and card games to play online.

This site has some absolutely brilliant free online games, here’s the lowdown on the type of games they have to offer.

Card Games

After discovering Solitaire.org I have spent hours browsing the free online games, but especially the brain and card games. As the name suggests, the website is great for those looking to play the classic card game, Solitaire, however, that’s not all that’s on offer. You can choose from different varieties of the game, but you can also browse other popular card games such as Blackjack and Gin Rummy.

Logic Puzzles

One of my favourite genres of game, the logic puzzles on Solitaire.org are among my most loved puzzles. There are so many free online games that fall into this category, such as games like Tetris, Sudoku, and Chess.

Word Games

Another of my trusty favourite genres of free online games! I absolutely love the Daily Crossword and the Wordoku puzzle.

Mahjong

Choose to play a simple, no-frills version of Mahjong, or jazz it up with some themed or more challenging versions.

Hidden Object

Perhaps one of the best types of games to mindlessly play after a stressful day is a hidden object game. There are 8 games to choose from in the Hidden Object category, all ranging in difficulty from an easy 10 level game, The Palace Hotel, to Hidden Princess, a game where numbers are skillfully hidden within the landscape.

Match 3 Games

Under this category, you’ll find everyone’s favourite type of Match 3 games. There are classic, straightforward Match 3 games here, but there are also games that have clever twists to make it more interesting.

My favourite free online games that help me relax and unwind.

I’ve spent hours on this website now and I definitely have a few favourite free online games that I think other people who enjoy this type of thing will also really enjoy.

My first favourite game from Solitaire.org is The Daily Crossword. Each day the puzzle changes, which I love as it means I have something to look forward to after the kids have gone to bed. The crossword is also printable, which I think is a great feature!

Next up, I love all the Hidden Object games, but especially The Palace Hotel as it’s just a nice, easy game to play in the evenings. I like that it’s not too challenging as this makes it far more relaxing for me.

Finally, I have really enjoyed playing The Daily Word Search. Again, this changes each day and can be printed, which is a real game-changer for puzzle addicts like me. I also like that the clues are on the Word Search board heading in all different directions, including backward. This makes it a little more interesting. If you like your word searches extra hard, you can even choose a bigger grid!

Unwinding after a stressful day with these free online games is easy and fun.

If you find that you live a stressful life and you’re looking for a way to unwind, I really do recommend this website! Playing free games online is so easy and it’s incredibly relaxing to just play along without any pressure. If you want to come back to the puzzle later, for example, if you want to go and make yourself a cup of tea, you can simply pause most of the games and then come back to it when you want to. This is a great feature, especially if you are a parent like me who often finds their kids never want to stay in bed!

I do love a word game as it gets me to think. I tend to find with games I’ll find one I’m obsessed with and play loads for a few weeks and then I move onto something else x

I have a couple of games that I usually play when I take a break from working, to unwind, especially when the weather is bad and I can’t go out for a walk. I like the simple games, that don’t require a lot of thinking.

I find word games use just enough brain power to keep me active, but I can also relax nicely when playing them.
