Autumn is definitely in the air! That means chilly days, knitwear and leggings, collecting conkers, and sipping on hot chocolate. Do you know what else it means? Halloween Crafts time!

I love Halloween, but it is worth remembering that even if you’re not the biggest fan (each to their own, it seems to be a bit like Marmite: you either love it or hate it), Halloween does present an excellent and exciting opportunity to get creative and crafty with your children. These gorgeously cute little bats are made from a TP roll, black paint, black paper, glue, and googly eyes!

But The Mess!

I’ve made these with Luke and if there is one thing motherhood has taught me, Halloween is the time when you learn to embrace black paint (eek!) and messy toddlers! I suggest you put lots of newspaper down or a messy mat that you can wipe clean afterwards.

Tip: Cheap shower curtains or wipe clean tablecloths make excellent messy mats!
