Making Money To Fund 2020

*Collaborative post.

We have big plans for 2020! We’re moving house very soon, we’ve got a wedding to plan for and we’re also aiming to get a dog and go on a few camping holidays. It should be a great year, but all these fun experiences and lifestyle choice cost money. My income comes from blogging and my partner works full time, so between us everything is covered, but added extras require a little more cash every now and then.

Making money doesn’t necessarily mean you have to pick up an extra job. You can make money in loads of different ways – trust me, I think I’ve pretty much tried them all! I’ve got a few plans to help make some extra cash to help fund our 2020, so if you’re interested, here’s what we intend to do!

Sell unwanted items.

Yes, it’s a pretty standard “make money fast” option, but that’s because it works! We’re moving very soon – in just over a week – so we’ve been packing for a little while now. I started packing a little earlier than necessary because I wanted to go through everything that we had and ensure we only moved things that we actually wanted to take to the new house. It gave me the opportunity to go through everything thoroughly and put all the items that we could sell to one side. I wanted them gone quickly so I set the prices a little lower to ensure a quick sale.

So far we’ve sold Luke’s old bike, old guitars, clothing bundles and coats. In the past we’ve sold phones, mountain bikes, jewelry, TVs and more. I’m pretty sure it’s possible to sell almost anything online – even empty boxes that mobile phones or cameras came in. One man’s junk is another man’s treasure and all that. It’s not a huge earner, but it’s good enough to fund a take away here or there or pay for a camping pitch for a few days in the summer.

Betting and online gaming.

Cheltenham Festival starts in March and this is a great time to make some extra money. If you’ve heard of matched betting, it’s a great way to take advantage of hugely popular sporting events like this one and make some extra cash. My new year goals for 2020 mentions making the most of matched betting so I will definitely be actively placing bets during the Cheltenham Festival.

Of course you don’t have to match your bets, you can just have a good time of it all and make some bets and see what happens! I do this frequently too, but I’m always very careful. It’s a good idea to place small bets that you can afford – always be careful when placing bets and stop when the fun stops.

Copywriting and other writing services.

I have spent so much of my life on survey sites and although they do make you extra cash, being screened out from surveys is the most frustrating thing in the world. Especially if you’ve already spent 15 minutes of your life filling them in! Instead of relying on my blog to generate all of my income, I’m planning on joining up to several writing sites with the aim of using my skills to earn some extra cash. I already offer SEO copywriting alongside blogging, so joining up to a few websites that are looking for people with my skills seems like the next logical step towards making money from writing.

So those are just 3 ways in which I intend to earn some extra money to help fund our 2020. Do you have any tried and tested methods of making extra money online? Let me know in the comments as I’m always looking for new and exciting ways to earn cash (who isn’t?)!
