Review | Nimble Household Cleaning Gift Set

[Ad/Gifted Review]

I know that when you’re wondering what would make a thoughtful gift for all the new parents in your life, cleaning products probably don’t spring to mind. But just bear with me on this!

The newborn days are so hard. They’re bittersweet; you’re filled with immense love but oh my word, you’ve only slept for 5 hours since giving birth 4 days ago. Cleaning is the last thing on anyone’s mind.

Sooner or later though, you find your home has descended into chaos and you need to clean. Worst of all, you’re not entirely sure how long you’ve got to get it all done before the baby wakes up again. You’re going to need the right tools for the job and that’s where Nimble comes in.

About Nimble Cleaning Products

Nimble is all about keeping cleaning products simple and child friendly. The Nimble founder worked as a chemist for over ten years before his first niece was born. When taking a look at the ingredients used in other cleaning products, he was really shocked by the level of heavy duty chemicals listed. That’s when Nimble was born. They strive to provide effective cleaning products that are just as good as the other leading brands, but without the use of industrial chemicals. They’re on a mission to allow your child to be free, explore and create mess in an environment that can be easily and safely cleaned without the use of potentially toxic chemicals.

The Nimble Milk Buster Cleaner

For cloudy, smelly bottles.

I hate it when my baby’s milk bottles go all cloudy and a little bit pongy. It’s not so bad with the formula that Oscar has now, but back when I was exclusively pumping it was a real nightmare. I remember googling at 3am how I could clean my bottles better and get rid of the horrible smell. I tried loads of things and some of them sort of worked and some didn’t work at all. I wish I’d known then about the Milk Buster by Nimble. Not only is it a handy product to have, it’s also powered by 5 – 15% plant-based cleaning ingredients, such as coconuts, and 1% phenoxyethanol making it free from a lot of chemical nasties.

How to use.

The Milk Buster cleaner is really easy to use and doesn’t add any extra faffing to the washing up process (thank god!). All you need to do is add a little bit of water to your bottle, spray twice into the bottle (instead of using washing up liquid) and then give it a good scrub. Then you simply rinse as normal.

Does it work?

I washed up all the bottles and rinsed them as usual, then put them through the steriliser as my baby is under 12 months old. It seems to me like they all came out of the process looking a lot fresher. The plastic was definitely less cloudy and it worked really well on the teats, dummies and dummy boxes too. That’s a big thumbs up from me!

The Nimble Laundry Lover

A non-bio clothes detergent.

This is one for the mum of the baby who’s fond of producing poonamis! It’s pretty tricky to find one detergent that sorts out food, pee and poo stains. The Nimble Laundry Lover claims that it can remove all three while still being kind to skin, gentle on colours and contain no nasty brighteners, enzymes or dyes. It does contain perfume as well as some other cleaning ingredients, but I’ve got to admit, it does smell really nice. I’m one of those people who loves their laundry to smell super fresh all the time, so this is great for me.

How to use it.

It’s pretty simple to get your head around this one – I’m sure you don’t need my instructions! Simply pour in the advised amount, set your washing machine to start washing and wait for the results.

Does it work?

When I find myself with soiled clothes, I always wash them separately and stick them in on a slightly higher wash. I had a few bits that Oscar had accidentally managed to get poop on and so I put these in the wash at 40 and used a 3rd of my travel sized bottle. The clothes came out poo-free and smelling lovely and fresh. I’ve even heard that this laundry detergent can remove blood from clothes as well, so it’s definitely a great product to have on stand-by.

The Nimble Sticky Stopper

A toy and surface cleaner.

You’ll likely have loads of antibacterial surface cleaners in your home –  I always wonder how safe these all are to use around children and pets! The Sticky Stopper is specifically designer to help clean up all those sticky, gooey messes that children are so fond of making and is powered by gentle cleaning ingredients and a disinfectant made from fermented sugar.

How to use.

Spray the desired surface or toy with the Sticky Stopper spray from about 5cm away. Give it a nice wipe clover with a cloth and then dry. It’s as simple as that.

Does it work?

I have a 10 month old baby and a 5 year old boy. I cannot express how many sticky messes get made each day. The worst one for me is when Luke has something sweet and sticky as a treat…lollipops for instance! Ugh, they’re the worst and he gets everything covered in horrible stickiness during the 10 minutes it takes him to eat it. Following him around and using a quick spray of Sticky Stopper on all the offending surfaces worked out really well. The spray works well and really cuts through the stickiness, it even works well on table mats, the outside of drinks bottles and high chair trays.

Overall thoughts on the Nimble cleaning products.

I was a little skeptical at first, especially about the Milk Buster. I had tried so many methods for cleaning the milk residue out of my baby bottles and none of them had really worked that well, so I was worried I’d have the same problem with this product as well. I was actually really pleased when the bottles came out looking the way they did, so that was great! I love all the products that I’ve tried – the Laundry Lover smells lovely and fresh and the Sticky Stopper really does cut through the sticky messes that my kids make.

So, although it may not be the most traditional of new-baby gifts, the Nimble Household Cleaning Gift Set sure is a useful one!

The cleaning products are all child friendly here, which is the most important thing. They’re efficient, fast acting and reasonably priced. If you’re on the lookout for something to add to a little gift bundle alongside the usual cuteness, definitely consider popping some Nimble products in. Your new mum friend will thank you!

What a good selection of products. I remember hating the cloudy bottles. I’ll be honest and say I got rid of them and bought new so this would have saved me some money.

Great review, very thorough and honest x

The Milk Buster is probably my favourite since we’re still giving Oscar bottles. They come up almost looking brand new again.

Oh yes, exactly. It’s one thing having less chemicals and being child friendly, but if it doesn’t work, what’s the point? These all work brilliantly and I think I have been converted! So reasonably priced too compared to the similar things on the market.

OOh that milk buster would have been handy for my 2nd son. He had prescription formula and it was foul. We went through so many bottles because they wouldn’t clean well. Love how natural and safe the products are.

Oh my, that sounds dreadful! Bottles are so expensive as well! It’s a lot cheaper to buy some of this – I wish I had known about it with my first son too. It’s a real money saver.

    • Lukeosaurus And Me

They’re really good. I hadn’t used them before now but I think I will be converted from now on.

I wouldn’t say no if someone wanted to buy me this as a gift, it all sounds great! I hate cloudy bottles too and it really annoys me that no matter what I try they won’t come perfectly clean so I would love to give the milk buster a go. The sticky stopper also sounds like a winner”xx

I would have loved it as a gift! I think people are too scared to give practical things and play it safe. I hate cloudy bottles, they’re the WORST!
