Making Our Own Wedding Invitations

*This is a collaborative post, however, all thoughts and feelings are my own.

There are only 6 months to go until our wedding and it suddenly feels like it’s time to start getting serious about the remaining planning and payments. Thanks to COVID 19, there aren’t enough ‘100% set in stone’ wedding arrangements for my liking, but I am doing my best to go with the flow and focus on what we can do, rather than what we can’t. Planning a wedding when you suffer from anxiety is hard enough, but add in a global pandemic and it really throws you off. I know I’m not the only bride to be worried about her wedding though, so I am trying hard to take it all in my stride.

According to a lot of people online and to my wedding planner (which has barely been touched), the ‘6 Months To Go’ period is the perfect time to start thinking about buying/designing modern wedding invitations and getting them all sent out.

Wedding Invitation Options

There are so many options when it comes to wedding invitations – it seems like there’s literally nothing simple about planning a wedding. One part of me wants to just head to a shop and buy a couple of premade packs, write them out and send them off – job’s a good’n. The other part of me thinks that, fingers crossed, this is the only time I’ll get to do all of this, so I should make the most of the wedding preparation side and create something unique.

Making something unique to us adds a whole new level of complication, not to mention time, and effort. Originally I wanted to use watercolours and paint some autumnal pumpkins and leaves, then send it all off to get printed. Another idea I had was to hop onto Canva and create something professional looking, save, then print them off and send them out.

After a period of serious doubt and indecision, I discovered that there’s a wedding invitation compromise! Wow Vow specialise in DIY wedding invitations that can be 100% customised to the bride and grooms specifications.

Wow Vow DIY Wedding Invitations

Wow Vow has basically solved my wedding invitation problem by providing all the inspiration and materials needed to create beautiful, elegant wedding invitations at home.

The Wow Vow website is similar to a giant craft store; it’s full of beautiful embellishments, papers, wording, fonts, envelopes, laser cut paper, ribbons, tape, and so much more. There are some self assembly packs available, but for the most part, Wow Vow focuses on providing the materials needed to design and create your wedding invitations at home. These days there are lots of options available if you need any kind of customized stationery items. You can order stationery logo online as well.

There’s so much choice of materials and style, that there really is something for every couple out there. I personally love their huge selection of papers, from mirrored card and glittery paper, to a more classic, elegant collection of white, ivory, and cream paper/card. As well as materials needed to create invitations, Wow Vow also sell a selection of envelopes that you can add to your order – this is great because it guarantees you’ll get the right size envelope for you invites, and the invitations and envelopes will match perfectly.

DIY Wedding Decorations

It’s not just wedding invitations that Wow Vow specialise in. There’s also a massive selection of crafting goodies to help you style your big day. Offering lots of beautiful DIY materials for room decoration, signage, table plans, the wedding table, and the cake, Wow Vow really do have you covered for the whole event. Their award winning products definitely ooze class and elegance, looking beautifully professional, but allowing you to truly make your big day your own.

Since discovering Wow Vow…

Since discovering the Wow Vow website, I now feel even more inspired than before to make our very own wedding invitations. I love the huge selection of styles that are available, plus there’s so much inspiration on their website to help you make the most of your crafting supplies. I’m not the world’s best crafter and, like many future brides and grooms, I’m worried about everything being perfect. Thankfully, as well as inspiration Wow Vow have lots of easy to follow tutorials featured on their website, so you never need to worry about messing anything up!
