Monthly Glow Up Journal
I realise now (at the beginning of February!) that I completely forgot to write a blog post introducing my personal monthly journal that I want to begin writing in an attempt to document my physical and emotional growth throughout 2021. I’ve decided to give journaling a go. I’ve not been feeling fabulous about things lately. I have been feeling very stale and lost, like I am living without a purpose and I have nothing to show for my nearly 30 years on this planet. I already suffer from GAD and depression, so this impending doom feeling of helplessness and uselessness isn’t helping. In an effort to try and love myself…

4 Mantras That’ll Improve Your Wellbeing During Lockdown Schooling
I have seen a whole bunch of brilliant and useful blog posts and articles online that have focused on helping parents during this strange and confusing time. A lot of the articles I have read have given great tips on how to create an effective home lockdown schooling area, how to plan a routine that works for you, how to home school your children effectively, and how to juggle school work and your own work. Openly discussing mental health becomes more and more acceptable as each year passes, and so does abolishing the stigma surrounding mental health in adults and children. Modern day childhoods are significantly different compared to the childhood most of us parents experienced. Kids these days have access to hundreds, if not thousands, of TV channels, as well as a whole variety of social media platforms. This access has become increasingly detrimental to children’s self esteem. In this post…

How to reduce the symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder.
*Collaborative post. Have you ever noticed that when the seasons transition from the sunny summer months into the cold and dreary autumn/winter months, you find yourself feeling deflated, fatigued and unmotivated? You could find that you’re suffering from ‘Seasonal Affective Disorder’, otherwise known as ‘SAD’ or ‘Winter Depression’. What is Seasonal Affect Disorder? SAD is a type of depression that is generally believed to be linked to a reduced exposure to sunlight during the winter months. It’s thought that the reduction in sunlight causes part of your brain to stop working as well, which can cause heightened/reduced hormone production. Your body also uses natural sunlight to tell you when it’s…

Anxiety Chat
Over the past few months I have been struggling a lot more with my mental health than I’d care to admit – specifically, my anxiety. In fact, it’s almost certainly gone on for longer than a few months, but that’s the time frame in which I actually started to try and get the help that I needed. I visited the Doctor and she was the nicest person in the world. I explained that, once again, the anxiety had become so bad that I felt like it was ruining my life. I talked about all the recent scenarios that I’d experienced and how they had affected me – from panic attacks…
