Create New Habits In 21 Days With The Positive Day Planner

*This post mentions an item that was kindly gifted to me, as always, all thoughts/opinions are my own.

Have you ever heard of the 21/90 rule? The rule states that it takes 21 days to form new habits, and after 90 days, your new habit(s) will have become actual lifestyle changes. 21 days, that’s all. That’s 3 weeks, or, if you want to be really specific, 504 hours.

To create a new habit, or replace an existing one with something more positive or beneficial, you need to practice that habit consecutively for 21 days. This requires commitment. You need to show up, hold yourself accountable for those 3 weeks, and ensure you don’t break the chain.

After 21 days, you’ll have most likely morphed this new practice into an actual daily habit and, as we all know, habits are hard to break! If you were to continue on with this daily practice, you’d find that after 3 months, your habit will have become part of your lifestyle.

For the best results, you MUST hold yourself accountable for 21 days

21 days really isn’t a long time in the grand scheme of things, but that doesn’t mean that developing a new habit is easy. For many reasons, people can find themselves struggling to stick to this new activity on a daily basis. People lead busy lives, have mental health problems, or simply forget.

If you find yourself struggling and looking for a way to stay motivated, consider getting yourself The Positive Day Planner.

The Positive Day Planner

The name is pretty self explanatory, but this little gem is an extremely valuable tool for those who are seeking to create habits that lead to more positivity within their lives.

The Positive Day Planner is an eyecatching, bold, and colourful daily gratitude journal. Starting at the beginning, on Day 1, and taking you all the way through to Day 21, The Positive Day Planner has a selection of areas for you to fill in daily that will help you cultivate a happier, more fulfilling lifestyle.

Features Of The Positive Day Planner

The thing I really like about The Positive Day planner is its simplicity. The writing prompts are relevant to positive habit building and are quick to answer. There are other self improvement journals available to purchase online, however I tend to find have too many boxes to fill in, which, in the past, has led me to discontinue the process.

The Positive Day Planner has kept things quick and easy. Each double page spread contains the following sections:

  • 10 Things I’m Grateful For
  • My Affirmation For The Day
  • How I Will Make Today Great
  • My Meal Plan For Today
  • My Exercise Plan
  • My Highlight Of The Day
  • My Mind Dumping Space

Plenty Of Fun Designs To Choose From

The planners come in several quirky and fun designs with names inspired by positive affirmations. Mine features lots of love hearts and is called the ‘I Love Myself’ planner. I am particularly fond of the ‘My Light Within’ planner that features big, bold lightning bolts on the cover. For a limited time, you can also purchase a Breast Cancer Awareness Month edition; 40% of the profits from this edition will go to Breast Cancer charities.

Why I Like The Positive Day Planner So Much

The quickness and simplicity of this planner are the things that make me like it so much! Like many, I don’t have hours of spare time each day to dedicate to journaling, so this is a really productive way of celebrating gratitude and daily highlights, encouraging positive affirmations, and reminding me to eat/exercise. I also love the mind dumping space – it’s a great place to dump all your thoughts and worries before bed.
