6 + 1 ways to increase your productivity while working from home

Many companies have allowed or forced their employees to work from home. While teleworking is a welcome development for many people, it is not always easy to be productive while working from home.

It becomes much easier to fall asleep later, watch a TV series, spend a lot of time on social media or just generally waste time without working. Having children at home also makes remote work even more difficult.

There are many distractions that can make working from home particularly difficult. It is also easy not to be productive without your boss or co-workers controlling you. So try the following strategies to be more productive when working from home:

Set a schedule and follow it

  • One of the benefits of going to the office is that you have a set work schedule each day. You can not sleep as long as you want, read a report lying on the couch, check your Facebook profile and after a while, decide to work.
  • Create a program and follow it. Avoid starting your day too late and make sure you go to bed relatively early.
  • Schedule work-related tasks. You can not watch TV in the middle of the day at work, so avoid doing it while working at home.
  • Make a to-do list and follow it.

Keep a routine for your treatment as well

It is still essential to take a shower and follow your regular grooming routine, just as you did when you went to work and did not work from home.

Dress for success

You can be one of those people who can do even the most demanding tasks while wearing their pyjamas. Or you may be one of those people who needs to get dressed as if they were going to the office to complete the day’s work. The truth is that you can try both ways and choose the one that makes you feel more productive.

Become an expert in your distractions

Study yourself and observe how and when you get distracted from your job. When are you more likely to get off track and waste a lot of time doing something different than you should? What exactly do you do when your mind is out of work when you shouldn’t be?

As a voice actor from your home, working, for example, will definitely give you relative freedom and flexibility with all your installed equipment. But your productivity can be affected if you do not set yourself some limits that must be met in your schedule. So you can control all these distractions around you and dedicate yourself entirely to creating content.

After all, we are talking about highly creative work that requires full concentration and attention from you. Suppose some of you can organize your work schedule properly while at the same time wishing to work in a creative profession. In that case, you could turn to the voice acting agency Voquent, which will offer you immediate work, as well as career development opportunities.

Take responsible breaks

A brisk walk is unlikely to lead to problems at work. Checking your social media accounts or watching TV for a few minutes can be a waste of an hour or more.

Manage your phone and computer

The telephone and the computer often cause the most significant distractions. Put your phone on silent and leave it in the other room if your job allows it. Limit your computer usage to work-related activities until they are complete.

Do the housework after work

It is tempting to sweep the floor, put in the washing machine or make your bed during the work day when you work from home. You can finish your work and then worry about your housework.

Working from home may seem ideal, but it can be difficult to be productive for a variety of reasons: lack of schedule, various distractions, lack of supervision, organized environment, etc. Remote work can still be extremely productive, but it does require some changes in your approach.
