Autumn Style Wishlist 2017 – Esprit
AD/This is a collaborative post.
Hurrah for Autumn! Like many comfort lovers, Autumn is my favourite season (by far!) and October and November are my favourite months of the year.
Not only are there actually legitimate excuses to dress up as monsters, eat tonnes of chocolate, stay up late to watch fireworks and have scary movie nights, you also get to snuggle up under big blankets, drink hot chocolate, swan around in a fancy and luxurious linen robe womens bodies crave, crunch through piles of crispy leaves and collect millions of conkers. Yep. Autumn is pretty great.
Another great thing about Autumn is the fashion!
As soon as those evenings start getting darker earlier and I find myself wrapping up in three layers of clothing to do a foggy morning school run, I know it’s time to get my autumnal fashion game on.
The best bit about the styles of women’s clothing typically seen in autumn is that the clothes always look great on everyone. In summer, I struggle to find something that looks good on me that also isn’t either unbelievably boring or takes you straight back to the 90’s. Autumn? Autumn has got your back – and so has Esprit! I’ve been surfing their website and I’ve found a collection of bits I absolutely adore.
Esprit Autumn Wishlist
Checks
The first thing that screams autumn to me are checks. Specifically, big, cosy checked scarves. Whether you’re heading out to work/school or wrapping up warm to go in search of hot chocolates and Christmas Market stalls, nothing completes an outfit and makes you feel quite as happy as a big checked scarf. I really like this Square Scarf in Bordeaux Red found on the Esprit website.
Following on with the checked theme, Esprit also have the most amazing coat I have ever laid eyes on. Sometimes in the gloom that comes with the autumn months, you need to inject a bit of colour into your life. I give you the Brass Yellow Padded Parka with Check Lining. It’s a bit costly at £99, but it is also absolutely beautiful.
The Jumper That Dreams Are Made Of
I had a part mohair jumper years ago when I was in college from TopShop. I absolutely blooming loved it. I pretty much spent my entire autumn term at college chilling out in this big cosy jumper teamed up with some crazy pattern tights on my legs and some chunky biker boots. Sadly, my precious jumper didn’t quite make it out of the washing machine alive one day (it shrunk!) and I’ve been without one ever since.
Bearing all that in mind, imagine my excitement when I was surfing through the Esprit website and I came across a jumper that is almost identical! Instead of being black and white like the one I had, this Casual Block Stripe Jumper With Mohair features big bold blocks of red and white stripes and has been created with a feminine bateau neckline which beautifully contrasts the big chunky blocks of colour. I am completely, 100% in love with this jumper!
Boots and Buckles
I mentioned that I loved biker boots back in my college days and I’m not ashamed to say that some things have definitely not changed. Nothing makes me feel more powerful than a good pair of boots. I think autumn is the best time to get out and stomp through some crunchy leaves in your hardcore biker boots and these faux leather Biker Boots with Buckles look like they’ll do the job perfectly. Oh, I love them!
Stretch Jeans – Whoever created these, thank you!
I appreciate that not everyone wants to wear floral tights in autumn; that’s where skinny jeans or leggings come in! I’m just going to go out and say it – whoever invented jeans with added stretch, I love you. I hated wearing jeans before all this stretchy business came around but now I feel way more comfortable walking around in jeans and a whole new world of fashion has opened up to me. These Stretch Jeans with Embroidered Stars have something a little extra glam about them which I really like.
The Party Dress!
Finally, with autumn now in full swing, we’re entering the festive season. As always, there are parties, celebrations and family get-togethers to attend and you’ve got to have that perfect dress. Everyone has their own style and dresses come in all different shapes and sizes, but I have fallen in love with this one. This Party Dress with Polkadot Tulle Skirt is truly beautiful and would look absolutely stunning at any festive event. I may have to point my other half in the direction of Esprit when he starts talking about his work’s Christmas party!
I really love autumn and I hope that this post has reminded you that it’s okay to go out there and try something new, buy yourself something lovely and cosy or even just to treat yourself to a lovely cup of hot chocolate.
