How To Brighten Up Your Home For Autumn

Autumn is my absolute favourite time of the year! There’s just so much to love, from the food to the fashion. Autumn is a time of year that just brings all my senses to life; my favourite thing that I most adore about autumn is how wonderfully colourful it is. The golden yellows, oranges and reds fill the world around me and I just cannot get enough of it. Every year I want to bring as much nature indoors as possible, and it’ll come as no surprise at all to you that I decided to have an autumn themed wedding

I really enjoy decorating my home for autumn. I love bringing those wonderful colours indoors and brightening up my house with those bright golden hues and, of course, plenty of warm, cosy textiles. If you want to learn how to brighten up your home for autumn, here are my favourite tips and tricks that really help to bring your living space to life during the autumn months.

Striking Wall Art

I live in rented accommodation which means brightening up my home for autumn, or even the rest of the year, isn’t as easy as applying a lick of brightly coloured paint. In order to make these standard magnolia walls stand out, I rely heavily on wall art.

Autumn is all about feeling cosy and embracing change, which is exactly why I recently popped over to PhotoWall to pick out some new canvas prints for my home. The key is to think about what autumn means to you and how you choose to celebrate it. For some, it’s the wonder of the leaves changing colour, for others it’s the sweet flavoured coffee and hot chocolate treats that brighten up your day. Whatever it is that makes you feel at peace with yourself during autumn is what you should bring into your home.

Try picking out some canvas prints that show whimsical sketches of autumn plants, or wonderful landscape scenes featuring falling leaves.

Textiles, Textiles, Textiles

To me, autumn is all about being cosy. It’s about big knitted sweaters, snuggly blankets and colourful throws. When wondering how to brighten up your home for autumn, you cannot forget about the textiles. Think about bringing some more colour into your bedroom by kitting your sheets out with some new autumn themed bedding. Maybe you could swap out your usual sofa cushion covers with some featuring autumn prints or phrases. Or perhaps you could simply introduce a new cosy blanket into the mix.

Invite Nature In

One of the easiest ways to celebrate autumn is to invite nature into your home. When you think about how to brighten up your home for autumn, do you ever think about decorating your living area with natural materials that you’ve sourced from your local environment? Using things that you’ve found in nature can be a beautiful way to brighten up your home for autumn; it’s also completely free! Think about the type of things that you’d typically see when taking a stroll in autumn, including pine cones, wildflowers and conkers. If you want to step it up a notch, why not pop to your local farmers market or superstore and take a look at their mini pumpkin selection? Nothing says autumn quite like a pumpkin!

Conclusion

When it comes to wondering how to brighten up your home for autumn, there are plenty of options available to you depending on your budget. From bright and cheery wall art to natural materials such as pine cones and conkers, there’s always a way to make autumn a special celebration in your home.
