Revive Collagen Hydrolysed Marine Collagen Drink Review

I was kindly gifted the Revive Collagen Hydrolysed Marine Collagen Drink for the purpose of this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This year, I turned 30. Now I know this isn’t a big deal, but it made me think about the amount of energy I put into looking after my mind and body. For a long time, I foolishly thought that having a proper skincare routine wasn’t necessary because I was ‘young’. I didn’t need any fancy moisturisers or supplement drinks – everything would just look after itself. Oh, how naive was I? The reality is that, when you have two kids and two energetic dogs, it’s fairly difficult to make sure that you’re getting enough of the good stuff that your body needs.

When I was asked if I would be interested in reviewing the Revive Collagen Hydrolysed Marine Collagen Drink, I was immediately intrigued. I hadn’t heard of collagen drinks up until now – I know, I must have been living under a rock – so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Before I agreed to start drinking this supplement, I decided to do some more digging into the Revive Collagen company to see if this product really was something that would benefit me and my skin.

What is collagen and why do we need it?

As we grow older, our natural collagen levels deplete. Collagen is a protein our body produces and is the main component in our skin – in fact, collagen makes up around 80% of our skin, helping to keep it smooth and elasticated. Although our bodies produce collagen naturally, as we age, the levels at which it’s created reduce, and therefore our skin elasticity lessens, resulting in thinner skin that is more prone to wrinkles.

I learnt an absolutely startling fact that made me wish I had started to take better care of my skin from an earlier age! Did you know that collagen levels reduce by around 1.5% each year, starting in the early 20’s?

This means that by the age of 60, humans will have lost around 80% of the collagen that is naturally produced. It is for this reason that we start to develop wrinkles; our skin becomes less elasticated and thinner, which means we lose the ability to ‘bounce back’.

Why taking collagen supplements is beneficial.

Now that I’m 30, it seems like this is the best time to start really taking care of myself. By introducing collagen supplements into my life, such as these Revive Collagen Hydrolysed Marine Collagen drinks, I will be able to slow down the decline in natural collagen levels, thus effectively slowing down the skin’s ageing process by stimulating the creation of collagen and hyaluronic acid.

Why Revive Collagen Hydrolysed Marine Collagen Drink is more effective than other collagen supplements.

Before I agreed to try out these supplement sachets, I thought it would be best to do some research into why these specific supplements would be beneficial. I was actually really surprised when I discovered why ingesting the supplement in liquid form was so much more beneficial to the body than taking tablets or applying collagen-rich creams.

Quick Absorption

In order for collagen supplements to have a noticeable effect on our skin’s appearance, we need to ingest at least 6,000mg of collagen peptides each day. This is the ideal amount of collagen as this triggers our bodies to continue producing collagen naturally. Hydrolysed collagen is absorbed easily and in considerably less time than other forms of ingestible collagen, such as tablets, which means you’ll start to see the results in much less time.

Typically, each sachet of Revive Collagen contains around 8,500 – 10,000mg of high-quality marine collagen, therefore guaranteeing that with each sachet, you’re getting enough collagen to see visible results in around 6-8 weeks.

Hydrolysed Marine Collagen – Is It More Effective?

Yes! Hydrolysed collagen is known to be more effective than collagen products that are primarily made up of glycine, proline and hydroxyproline. The collagen has been collected from ethically farmed fish skin, which breaks down into small collagen chains; this process is what results in those beneficial collagen peptides.

After researching the information above, I was sold. It seemed like ingesting hydrolysed collagen was the quickest way to get it into the bloodstream and start stimulating my body into producing collagen.

After drinking one sachet of Revive Collage Hydrolysed Marine Collagen Drink daily for a few weeks, here’s what happened.

My skin’s appearance improved greatly.

As I mentioned earlier, I live a busy life that is centred around two kids and two dogs. Between all that and working from home, I often neglect my body. I eat rubbish food and definitely don’t look after my skin as well as I should. As a result, my skin suffers. I am prone to spots and dark spots, and sometimes I look at my skin and notice that it’s extremely dull looking.

After taking Revive Collagen sachets daily for 5 or 6 weeks, I started to notice that the colour of my skin started to warm up. I haven’t necessarily got the youthful glow that I once had just yet, but I think that with continued use, I’d definitely be closer to achieving that look. My dark circles around my eyes have definitely reduced, and I’m not sure if this is a result of the collagen, but my skin is also less puffy around my eye area too.

My hair is shiny and has grown faster than usual.

My hair also appears to look much healthier than usual. A few months ago, before I got married, my hair was awfully damaged. My hairdresser and I have been working really hard to get it back to a healthy state that is easier to manage, and I think that taking the Revive Collagen Hydrolysed Marine Collagen drinks has really helped me advance on that journey.

My hair looks healthier and shinier. I have noticed that my hair loss has also decreased and I no longer have lots of hair falling out when I shower.

Overall thoughts on the Revive Collagen Hydrolysed Marine Collagen Drink.

Obviously, the results speak for themselves. I have had a great experience with the product, however, I also feel that it’s something that you need to get used to taking.

I’m pleased with the way that the Revive Collagen has affected my skin. I definitely feel like I look less tired and dull, and I feel more confident when not wearing makeup. My hair has definitely looked a lot better and has been easier to manage since taking Revive Collagen daily. Another effect I have noticed from taking these collagen supplements is that my nail growth has improved. My nails have been growing stronger, which is great as weak nails were something I was struggling with beforehand.

As the collagen is ingested in the form of a liquid, there’s simply no escaping the taste. The sachets are flavoured, however, that really doesn’t do much to mask the distinct taste of fish. I tried taking the Revive Collagen drinks in a variety of ways before I found something that suited me, and eventually, I did get used to the taste – though this took several weeks. When looking at other people’s suggestions on how best to take the product, they have suggested mixing it with water or taking it straight from the packet. These two options were just not happening for me! Instead, I finally discovered that mixing it with orange squash and a small amount of water made it easier for me to drink it without tasting the ‘marine’ flavour.
