The hot weather is sort of upon us, but it’s just not quite there yet.
Today I thought it would be the perfect time to venture to Peacocks and pick up some summer essentials.
Here’s what I came back with.
Women’s Dip Dye Cardigan Waistcoat £18 – Honestly, I don’t know what it is about this, but I love it. I love Coral at the moment and as the weather’s sort of here but not quite, I thought it couldn’t hurt to have something to throw on for a bit of extra warmth.
Ribbed Scoop Neck Cami £4 – For the price, you can’t go wrong. I love camis, I think they’re perfect for summer and go with pretty much anything. I love the colour of this one, I think it matches nicely with the coral from the waistcoat. I also use these tops when I’m working out as they’re cheap and breathable!
Women’s Printed Trousers £14 – Oh I just love these. They’re loose and stretchy, plus I’m a sucker for printed trousers. They’re a pyjama leg style…not sure what that really means, I guess they’re sort of a cross between Harem pants and leggings. Whatever they are, they’re very comfy and fab looking. I have also been informed that my bum looks great in them – always a plus, right?!
As well as these summer staples, that will no doubt see me through the entire season, with a little bit of mixing and matching, I also bought two more summer essentials.
Women’s Printed Poplin Shorts £12 – As I mentioned before, Cami’s can be paired with anything and the blue one above would look great with these tropical shorts for a casual, relaxed summer look. They’ve also got great, deep pockets. Very handy if you’re an adventuring mum.
You can’t survive summer without sunglasses, right? I am the type of person, admittedly, that buys a new pair every year. I don’t see the point in shelling out a huge amount of money on a pair of sunnies that I WILL lose, probably even before the end of summer. I don’t really have the face for glasses though, so it usually takes me some time, a lot of ummming and arrring, until I finally find the right pair. This summer, I’ve opted for the jazzy retro feel floral sunnies, I think they’re fab!
Unfortunately, I can’t find the exact pair I bought on the Peacocks website, but they were Wayfarer style, with a sort of pastel Cath Kidston floral pattern.
So that was my little summer haul from Peacocks!
I like to pick up one or two goodies that I know will last me the whole season and then go on to do some mixing and matching!
What are your summer essentials that you just can’t be without during the sunny weather?
This post is not endorsed or in any way connected to Peacocks, they just have some great summer stock in!
