Your Guide To Summer Skincare Essentials

The UK has just experienced some of the hottest weather ever recorded and us Brits have definitely felt the heat! As much as we love the summer months, with the increased heat and dryness in the air, comes the need to pay extra attention to our skin. Hot temperatures easily cause damage to the skin; the heat dehydrates it, sweat and make up clogs up our pores, and make up just adds to the overall damage. It is because of these factors, we should all ensure we stick to a proper summer skincare routine.

Summer skincare is vital, so stick to a regime that protects and hydrates your skin. This summer skincare essentials lists incorporates sunscreen and other products that are designed to be easy additions to your daily skin routine. To help you protect and pamper your skin this summer, we’ve put together a list of some of the most important skincare products that you need to start using in order to keep your skin happy and healthy during the summer months.

High Quality Sunscreen

No summer skincare essentials list would be without sunscreen. The skincare industry has done wonders recently promoting the benefits of using sunscreen as part of your daily skincare routine. Sunscreen should be worn every day in order to protect your skin from harm, and I’ve spent a lot of time trying to find a sunscreen that fits in perfectly and compliments my existing skincare routine. Finally, I think I may have finally found the one for me whilst browsing the popular skincare boutique, Skinstation

Thanks to Skinstation, I was able to easily browse their selection of luxury skincare products and find products that would, hopefully, slot right into my skincare routine. After heading to the SPF category, I came across the City Skin Age Defense SPF50 PA++++ sunscreen.

I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about the skincare brand, Murad, for some time now and I really wanted to see for myself if all the positive chatter was true. Murad’s sunscreen has everything rolled into one and that makes my life a whole lot easier. The indoor/outdoor SPF shields against digital blue light damage, UVA, UVB, and even pollution – all of this helps to protect your skin from damage and slow the aging process. Skinstation dispatched the cream quickly, and before you know it I was experiencing the colour correcting and balancing lotion for myself.

Murad’s City Age Defence SPF50 was so easy to fit into my daily skincare routine; all I needed to do was simply apply last for a luminous, non-ashy finish, and voila!

The All Important Cleanser

Cleanser is the first step to any skincare routine, and it’s the most important one (after protecting your skin from sun damage). Cleansing removes all the dirt, oil, sweat, residue make up, and impurities from your skin, therefore leaving it refreshed and squeaky clean. Unfortunately for us, our skin faces a lot of pollutants during the day, which means you need to be cleansing your skin twice a day. Make sure that when purchasing a cleaner for your skin, you look for one that actively compliments your skin type and any skin concerns you have.  There is a cleanser out there for every skin type, so make sure you view our range and find the best match for you before purchasing.

Antioxidants Are More Important Than Most People Think.

This is because antioxidants help to fight skin damaging free radicals that can form on your skin as a result of skin exposure and pollution. Antioxidants, such as Vitamin A and Vitamin C can help to prevent these free radicals from causing damage to your skin, such as breakouts, dark spots, and even wrinkles.

Not only do antioxidants help to keep your skin looking healthy and luminous, but applying these serums to your skin can help to firm your skin and stimulate the blood flow; thus encouraging skin cell regeneration.

Finally, Opt For Lightweight Moisturisers.

Moisturisers are just as essential during the summer as they are during the winter. Of course, during the winter months, we tend to opt for heavier and thicker creams to help battle harsh cold air dehydrating our skin. During the summer, however, it’s best to avoid these moisturising creams as they can feel greasy and sticky on your face. For optimal skin care health during the summer, switch to a lightweight moisturiser – one that’s water or gel-based is best.

Even if you have oily skin, you should still use a moisturiser during your morning and evening skincare routine.
