All parents will know that getting a great family photo is a real struggle. It’s hard to get everyone to face the right way, hard to get children to actually smile, and it’s almost guaranteed that you’ll have to take twenty photos just to get one nice one.

I am a huge photo fan and I often send image files off to be printed online and then add them to big frames that hold multiple photos. My-Picture.co.uk got in touch with me and asked if I wanted to spruce up my living room with a generously sized 60 x 40cm canvas print. Of course I said yes and my mind instantly flew to the perfect family photo that we took on a recent trip to The Look Out Discovery Centre. I say ‘perfect’ in the loosest of senses because, as we know, family photos are near enough impossible to get perfect.

The process for canvas printing is really easy and I found it to be no different from what I was used to when ordering photo prints online. You simply click the big purple “upload photo” button, choose the image you want to be printed and then select the size you wish your canvas to be. As I mentioned, I went for the 60x40cm canvas which is advertised as being their best valued canvas product. On this page you’ll also find optional extras, such as the frame thickness and edge design. Once happy with your design specifications, you can click onto the next page where information on your purchase is summarised and the option to insert a voucher code is given.

Quality Family Photo

A few days later, my parcel arrived well packaged in brown paper and cardboard. Obviously a 60x40cm canvas wouldn’t fit through the letter box, so if you are planning on ordering one, you will need to make sure you’re at home or you have arranged a safe place for your canvas to be left.

I think the canvas printing process darkens the original image ever so slightly, but I don’t think it’s very noticeable. The colours are still vivid and bold and the canvas material is a great quality, as is the wooden frame. When ordering, you can opt for the frame to have a hanging string installed on the back, but I did not choose to have this feature. The edges on the back of the canvas are very neatly tucked away and arranged so that the image stays tight across the frame and there are no excess bits of canvas material sticking out anywhere.

All in all, I’m very happy with my canvas picture from My Picture and it now sits on my living room wall, where it definitely helps to create a homely vibe. Of course, Luke also loves the fact that there’s a giant picture with him in it hanging up – so it definitely gets the thumbs up from my 4 year old.
