My Chronicle Book Box Subscription Review

It probably won’t surprise anyone to hear that when I was asked if I’d fancy featuring the My Chronicle Book Box in my Christmas Gift Guide this year, I immediately said yes. Every year I take part in the Goodreads Reading Challenge and, if I’m not writing on my blog, I’m usually curled up under a blanket with my nose stuck in a good book.

I wanted to find out a little more about this bookish subscription box, so I had a nosey at their website and social media accounts. It became evident very early on that I was in for a big treat. I can tell you now, I was not disappointed. In fact, I was impressed enough to decide that the My Chronicle Book Box needed it’s very own blog post.

Lousie, based in rural Yorkshire, is the brains behind the My Chronicle Book Box. She curates beautiful book subscription boxes that come with signed hardback titles, exclusive interviews and top notch bookish goodies. 

The My Chronicle Book Box came to life when Lousie searched tirelessly to find a bookish subscription box that suited her tastes, but couldn’t find one. She decided to take things into her own hands and assemble her own subscription box – that box now ships all across the UK, and globally!

Genre Selection

My Chronicle Book Box focuses on the Crime, Mystery, Sci-fi and Fantasy genres. They don’t include Young Adult books or books for children, however there are lots of other great quality bookish subscription boxes on the market for these genres. 

When selecting your preferred genre, you can choose between with Crime and Mystery or Sci-fi and Fiction.

My Chronicle Book Box Subscription Options

There are a couple of different options for subscribing to My Chronicle Book Box. Firstly, you need to decide whether you’re looking for a monthly subscription box, or whether a quarterly box would suit you more. 

With a monthly subscription, you’ll get a new first edition hardback book and a box full of bookish goodies.

Quarterly subscriptions come every 3 months of the year and contain 3 of the best new releases, exclusive author content and bookish goodies. 

The subscriptions do automatically renew if you don’t cancel, however you’re able to cancel or modify your subscription any time you like.

My Chronicle Book Box Subscription Pricing

I think the My Chronicle Book Box subscription box is great value, especially considering that you’re getting signed first edition hardbacks and lots of good quality bookish goodies. 

The monthly subscription box costs £26 a month.

The quarterly subscription boxes cost £48 and are charged on the 1st of every 3rd month. 

My thoughts on the My Chronicle Book Box

I love Crime and Mystery genres, so this box was definitely up my street. I also do love Sci-fi and Fantasy novels, but I definitely have to be in the mood for them. For that reason I chose to go for a monthly Crime and Mystery subscription box and it was such a lovely box to unwrap. The items were themed around the plot of the book and I created an Instagram Reel of the unboxing because it was so well put together. 

I think the boxes are really reasonably priced – the books are first edition hardbacks and they’re all lovingly hand wrapped. Opening up the My Chronicle Book Box was like opening up a book lover’s Christmas present and I have enjoyed using the goodies that came with my box. 

I’d definitely recommend the My Chronicle Book Box if you’re searching for a bookish subscription box that focuses on Crime & Mystery or Sci-Fi & Fantasy. The best thing about subscription boxes is that you can buy them as gifts for your loved ones!
