Review: Smol Laundry Capsules Subscription
These days there’s a subscription box for everything! I’m talking food, make up, pet treats…the list goes on and on. Companies have produced great boxes with excellent treats inside. ‘but that’s what they are, treats. What about the really useful stuff?
For People With Busy Lives
I have been trying out the Smol laundry capsule subscription box, which is perfect for people with busy lives, like me.
As a mum two boys, one of which is 4 weeks old, we get through a lot of laundry each week. Normally, that would mean I would have to head out to the shop and buy more washing liquid or powder fairly frequently.
That’s not so easy when it means making my way down three flights of stairs with a buggy, a baby and a 5 year old! Once we’re down, we are up another three big steps just to get out of the courtyard. Then the trek into town begins and it takes a little while as, thanks to the buggy, we can’t go the way we usually do and head over the train tracks via the bridge – we have to go the long way round.
Then of course, there’s lugging all the big heavy boxes and bottles back home, then trying to get everyone and everything back up the stairs again. Honestly, it is an absolute nightmare and a full blown plan of action is required!
Thankfully, Smol laundry products have taken away the hassle for me and made my busy life as a mum ten times easier. No longer do I have to embark on an epic expedition to Lidl to top up on my washing detergent, now I can just sit back, relax (ha!) and wait for the postman.
Straight Through Your Letterbox
The Smol washing capsules come in a super sleek child proof box. They fit through the letterbox with ease, so even if you’re out (my postman usually comes just after I’ve left for the school pick up), you can still get your capsules. It also means they take up less space in the cupboard – that’s another massive bonus for me as my utility room is packed full of beach things, bunny things, scooters, bikes and camping gear. The packaging is made from recycled and sustainable materials and is 100% recyclable as well, so once you’re done with your batch of laundry capsules, you can just pop all the packaging in your recycling bin.
Fresh Smell With Fewer Chemicals
The capsules themselves leave my washing smelling lovely and fresh. I’d say that the scent is very ‘clean’, which is exactly how I want my laundry to smell after it’s just been washed! Smol laundry capsules also use something they call ‘smol technology’, which means they use fewer chemicals than other laundry capsules without losing any of the cleaning power. They do, of course, also come in both bio and non-bio.
If you’re feeling a bit skeptical about using laundry capsules from a brand you’ve perhaps not heard much about before, let me put your mind at rest. As a parent, I always want what’s best for my children and ensure the products I use are of a great quality. The Smol laundry products have been tested against industry standards and perform better than or equal to other laundry capsules currently on the market. They also work out cheaper!
Really Convenient
Smol laundry capsules are really convenient for me because both my time and space is precious. I can’t be dealing with lugging huge boxes of washing powder around, especially now I have a newborn. Receiving laundry capsules from Smol through the post has been a bit of a game changer. They smell lovely, they wash well and they take all the hassle out of the laundry chore!
*I was gifted a Smol subscription box for the benefit of this review. All thoughts are my own.

It does seem quite handy to have stuff like this delivered on a regular basis, although in my house it’s usually loo roll that I have this issue with haha.

I’d love to have a loo roll subscription!

Have you heard of Who Gives a Crap??
Lukeosaurus And Me
As in, the toilet rolls? Or as in your opinion of this blog post?

As in toilet rolls! haha…hence the capitalisation. You said you would like a toilet roll subscription; WGaC are great.

This sounds like an interesting subscription. I like that the capsules have fewer chemicals and it would definitely be nice having to never think about remembering them with your shopping again! I may have to try them out for myself I think.

They have fewer chemicals but are still brilliant, they did such a good job.

My next door neighbour swears by this, I really need to give it a try

They’re so good!

What a great subscription idea! I could definitely do with this – I always have to rush out and buy more!

It definitely saves you having to carry heavy boxes and bottles around.

It sure is a great idea, as sometimes with our busy lives we tend to forget items or not have time to head out to do the shopping.

Interesting idea. It’s great that they have less chemicals in them. I’d perhaps worry about the excess energy used delivering them rather than picking them up with the rest of the weekly shop, though, so it would be great to buy them instore.

This is a great idea for a subscription! I would find this very handy.

That’s a really good idea. I love the fact that the packaging is easily recyclable and that there are fewer chemicals in the pods too! 🙂

Its a great idea for those who are busy on the go and don’t have much space for storage. I tend to just buy in bulk but that doesn’t always work for everyone xxx
