Three Months To A New You. Is It Really Possible?

If you think transforming your body and mind is going to take years, think again. It actually only takes a few months to turn things around, primarily because that’s how long it takes for the body to turn over new cells. You can actually rebuild yourself from the inside out in as little as twelve weeks, as long as you have the right approach.

Here’s what to do to become a new person in as little as three months:

Start Slowly

Our brains are wired to resist extreme change. If we immediately rip all of the comforts out of our lives and try something radically new, we will naturally resist it and find excuses for why we shouldn’t follow it. However, if we make changes more slowly, we are much more likely to stick to them.

We’ve all been in a situation where we’ve watched motivational videos and gone out to the store to buy a whole new pantry of food. Eating kale for every meal lasts about a week and then we get bored of it, wishing that we had something else to eat. Eventually, the fried chicken creeps back in and we’re back to our old habits.

The trick here is to start slowly and then build from there. For instance, perhaps you could begin by cutting out soft drinks in the first week, and then fried food in the second. Along the way, you are looking for alternatives that provide you with the same level of comfort and pleasure.

Break It Down Into Smaller Chunks

Many people believe that they need to make radical changes in their lives to get to where they want to be. And that’s mostly true: they do. However, they also need to break down their goals into smaller chunks. After all, trying to bite off more than you can chew is usually counterproductive.

Make your goals for week one really simple and something that you can easily achieve. Then add another goal for week two, week three, and so on. Over time, you’ll notice that the things that were once difficult have become habits and you can do them far more easily.

At first, the changes won’t appear particularly significant. However, over time, they will really add up. And eventually, you’ll find yourself in a position you never imagined before.

Deal With Your Negative Emotions

Emotion drives 90 percent of what we do with our lives. If we feel good about something, we pursue it relentlessly. However, if we feel negative, we are more inclined to give up.

If the big problem in your life is anxiety, then find ways to manage it. You could buy CBD oil and take a drop under your tongue every morning, or simply start exercising more to relieve stress and tension. Just find an outlet.

Don’t Forget To Celebrate

Lastly, don’t forget to celebrate. Remember, life is a journey. If you achieve something you never did before, such as walking for 30 minutes, then pat yourself on the back. Make yourself feel good and don’t compare yourself to anyone else.
