2019 New Year Goals
Look back on last year was an insightful moment for me. It was great to see that although I didn’t feel like we were able to do all that much because of my HG pregnancy, we actually managed to do some really nice things as a family and make some great memories. Now it’s time to look forward at 2019 and try to make it the best one yet.
In 2019, I’ll be turning 27 and that, quite frankly, terrifies me. I am closer to 30 than I’d like to be and I don’t feel like I have achieved anywhere near enough in life to be able to reach the big three-oh without feeling like a bit of a failure. So maybe 2019 will be the year of trying new things, travelling to new places and embarking on new opportunities.
As usual, I have split my goals for the year into two categories: real life and blog life. You can see 2017 and 2018’s goals too, if you fancy being nosey.

Real Life Goals
- Fix my body and lose the baby weight. As I write this, I vividly remember typing up 2018’s goals about getting out on walks and ensuring I get plenty of gentle exercise. At the time, I hadn’t announced my pregnancy anywhere online or to most family members, so writing “get those baby pushing muscles toned up!” wouldn’t have been helpful. This year though, I’ve had my baby and it’s time to get back in shape and lose the pounds. It’s hard to find time to work out with two kids but I’m going to try my best to get some me time a few days a week so I can work on fitness and also make sure I reduce my portion sizes. I also need to just…fix myself. I’ve got back pain, hip pain, headaches, bad eyes – the lot. So 2019 is the year of fixing my poor, abused body. I found a cool fitness website which you can use to save money by using discount codes and vouchers on fitness brands like Sports Direct and MyProtein which could come in handy throughout the year. I also need to ensure that I am getting enough good quality sleep, something that I have started to track using my Fitbit.
- Pay Off Debts. Speaking of losing pounds, I need to really get on top of my debt. Through 2018 I managed to finally pay off some debts my ex boyfriend left me with but then I needed help at the end of year again. It’s been a frustrating year on the debt front but I think 2019 will be the year I can finally get out of the red. I’m still saving with Chip and using Swagbucks to help make a few extra pennies on the side each month as well, which will help a little towards this goal.
- Make £2000 with matched betting. I’ve seen that people make over £1000 a month with matched betting, so £2000 over a year shouldn’t be too tricky, right? Throughout November I made enough money to pay off my Profit Accumulator subscription which I was pleased with & then in December I let the ball drop. It’s time to get back onto it and try my hand at depositing higher amounts of money for higher wins.
- Say yes more. Anxiety is a real bitch and so often I find myself turning down invites. My brain justifies it; it’s too far away, it’s too late, I don’t know anyone there, I can’t afford it… I mean, the last one is a pretty valid reason but one I definitely hide behind nonetheless. So 2019, come at me. I won’t shy away too much…at least I will make it my aim not to.
- Stop chasing people. 2018 was a great year but I relied heavily on other people and got really sad when other people weren’t there for me when I needed them. Sitting here at the beginning of January I’d like my personal goal to be along the lines of being comfortable in my own skin and my on company. I don’t need to chase anyone or seek other people’s approval.
Lukeosaurus And Me Goals
- Keep track of stats. I actually don’t pay that much attention to my follow counts and I pay even less attention to my Google Adsense reports. I think that makes me a pretty terrible blogger. It’s time to actually start paying attention to this stuff so that I produce better content and content that you guys are all generally interested in reading. I’m going to create a nice little spreadsheet for monthly figures and get myself a little more organised.
- Monetise the blog! Last year was the first year that I actually made a decent amount of money from Lukeosaurus And Me {oops, I should be thinking about that tax return} and I’d like to do even better this year. I haven’t got a ballpark figure in mind, but I’d like to at least make more than I made in 2018.
- Get a new header/logo. So I think I might be done with the whole “create your own logo on Canva” thing. It worked out well for me for three years but now it’s time to get more serious. My plan is to find someone lovely who can create a beautiful header/logo for the blog that I can be super proud of.
- Create business cards. Last year I started running a lot more giveaways that I have in previous years and, subsequently, I sent out a lot of parcels to lucky winners! Stupidly, I didn’t have any business cards to include in their packages, so that’s something I really need to get sorted, but only after I have sorted out my new blog graphics.
- Network more. I need to be brave and accept more invitations to events and reviews. Last year I reviewed a few day trips out, one of my favourites being our day trip to the Isle of Wight! In 2019 I want to do more reviews and attend more blogger events. I wouldn’t mind also finding some nice new blogger pals to chat with and maybe meet up with in the local area.
So those are my main goals, both in the blogging world and in the real world. I’d love to know what your goals or resolutions are for the new year, so let me know in the comments.

I love your list of blog goals for this year. Networking more is one of mine too, I am good at accepting invitations but get nervous when I get there and just fiddle with my phone. Good luck with your goals.

Good luck with your goals for this year, I have to admit I’ve not even thought of making any this year, the year seems to have take me by surprise. Perhaps I need to sit back and think of some this weekend.

Saying yes more is a lovely goal. Most people are trying to say No more, so I find it really refreshing for you to focus on the opposite. 27 is so young!!! I wish I were 27 🙂
