How To: Play Room Name Decor Hack
I must admit, I spend A LOT of time on Pinterest and one thing that keeps popping up that I just love the look of are those beautiful nursery/children’s room name decors. They’re just gorgeous.
Now, I also must admit that I have become somewhat stingey when it comes to decorations and other…”non essential” things and I definitely wasn’t going to spend a fortune on buying the things when surely I could make my own, or at least something similar for a fraction of the price.
After a quick (okay, it wasn’t quick, I lied) search on Pinterest, that I cannot say was entirely focused on the task in hand, I got the idea to make my very own name letters for Luke’s room that was incredibly easy and simple, yet very effective! You can make these beauties in just three steps.
All you need is some Washi/craft tape, some cardboard and scissors/knife/scalpel.
How To Make A Play Room Name Decor:
- On a large piece of cardboard draw out the letters you’ll need. I’m sure online you can easily find templates if you’re worried about drawing them on. I decided to go for it and used a ruler and a pen, because I am ill-equipped and don’t seem to own a normal pencil!
- Cut the letters out. The ease of this really depends on what type of cardboard you’re using. I used corrugated to give the letters an extra boost of height, making it slightly more difficult to cut out.
- Now cover with washi tape of your choice!
I have attached them to the wall using glu dots, or you could use something similar like whitetak or blutak.
I love this little decor hack, I hope you guys do too.

These are lovely Rachael! I love how they turned out, I neeeeed more washi tape, so many lovely patterns out there and I need more for this sort of thing! I’m also a Pinterest obsessive, I have thousands of pins now, there’s know way I could do them all, but I have definitely tried some of them! Will have to do this for the boys room I think.
Thanks so much for linking up to #HowtoSunday 🙂 xx
