Autumn is definitely in the air! That means chilly days, knit wear and leggings, collecting conkers and sipping on hot chocolate. You know what else it means? Halloween Crafts time!
I love Halloween, but it is worth remember that even if you’re not the biggest fan (each to their own, it seems to be a bit like Marmite: you either love it, or hate it), Halloween does present an excellent and exciting opportunity to get creative and crafty with your children. These gorgeously cute little bats are made from a TP roll, black paint, black paper, glue and googly eyes!
But The Mess!
I’ve made these with Luke and if there is one thing motherhood has taught me, Halloween is the time where you learn to embrace black paint (eek!) and messy toddlers! I suggest you put lots of newspaper down or a messy mat that you can wipe clean afterwards.
Tip: Cheap shower curtains or wipe clean table cloths make excellent messy mats!
How To: Halloween Bats Craft
Watch the above YouTube video to find out how to make these cute Halloween toilet roll Bats, or read the instructions below.
- Paint a toilet roll with black paint – it may require two coats.
- Fold down both ends of the toilet roll to make the bat’s ears and legs.
- On some black paper, draw out the shapes of bat wings. Then cut and and glue to the back of your bat.
- Finish with googly eyes!
