Here in the UK, we’re about 2 weeks into the 6 week summer holidays. UK schools work a little differently when it comes to schools based in the USA which means we end up having a long break in the summer where children stay at home.
It can be pretty hard to find ways to entertain children during the UK summer holidays. 6 weeks is a long time – especially if your children are anything like mine and get bored easily. As a family we do, of course, plan exciting things to do during this time and we love picking out a couple of low-cost places to visit from our 95 Things To Do With The Kids This Summer In Surrey and Hampshire blog post. However, big things certainly start to add up and it’s just not financially viable for us to constantly be spending money on tickets for family days out.
