Review | Future Poet – Positivity Clothing Brand

There’s nothing I love more than a slogan tee; they are the ultimate versatile wardrobe item. I would describe my fashion sense predominantly as t-shirts, jeans and a hoodie, although recently I have been trying to experiment a bit more with styles. That being said, t-shirts are still playing a major part of my ‘look’, so when I was offered the opportunity to browse Future Poet’s shop and review one of their t-shirts, I was more than happy to accept.

Future Poet are a London fashion brand who focus on spreading positivity through their clothing.

Their t-shirts feature stunningly designed slogans that ooze with positivity; their brand mission is to inspire, empower and uplift through their powerful quotes. With a wide selection of men and women’s t-shirts, it’s easy to find something that is is relatable, no matter your lifestyle or culture.

Everyday we are bombarded with messages of negativity and it’s no secret that the fashion industry sets us up to make us doubt ourselves and our bodies. Future Poet want to change this. They have created brilliant quote tees with beautiful typography that stand out from the crowd. We know that hearing words of positivity or reading inspiration quotes can alter our mood almost instantly, so it makes sense to submerge yourself in positivity by wearing these mood-boosting words in your everyday life.

While browsing the Future Poet website, I fell in love with quite a few of their designs.

“Dripping With Greatness” is the slogan tee I nearly chose as I love how much it stands out and what a brilliant phrase it is. Another design I had to choose between was the “Step Out” shirt with the slogan, ‘step out of your comfort zone & commit to the unknown’. Stepping out of my comfort zone is on my New Years Goals for 2019 and I think I’m doing a reasonably good job at that so far…although I don’t feel I’m quite there enough to be able to wear this design with the fearlessness it deserves. After much deliberation, I finally settled on the “Standardly Unique” women’s t-shirt.

I love the design on this t-shirt and I was drawn to it almost immediately. Although Future Poet has a great collection of quote t-shirts (men’s too), this one had the message that resonated with me the most. To quote Rocket Racoon (RIP little fella), “there ain’t no thing like me, except me!”

You are you and there’s no one else in the world like you, so stand tall and be proud of who you are.

The t-shirt itself is incredibly soft as it’s made from 100% cotton. It’s got a little bit of stretch to it which is nice. I was worried that as it’s white, it might be a bit see-through, however the fabric seems thick enough to wear without having to worry about anyone seeing my bra. One thing I would say is that my shirt is a bit tight, especially around the arm cuffs. I’m a larger lady, that has to be said, and if I were to order again, I would definitely order the next size up as I would much prefer a looser fit – maybe a size that would enable me to tuck it into jeans or wear it a bit baggy with some denim shorts. The website does say that the shirts are semi-fitted, so just be aware of that if you’re looking for something a bit baggy or you have a larger build. Alternatively, if, like me, you don’t mind rocking a men’s shirt, Future Poet has a brilliant collection of designs in their ‘mens’ section that could easily be paired with some high waisted jeans etc.

Purchasing T-shirts from Future Poet.

One thing I will say is that these shirts aren’t exactly on the cheap side, costing £21.99 each. However you do get quality materials, a t-shirt made with love and some brilliant uplifting slogans and design work that you won’t get anywhere else. For a great statement tee, I think these are worth the money and can be purchased from the Future Poet Shop.
